This is easy in IIB / WMB, you simply go to syslog

However, in WMQ, when I create a QM successfully, I do not see a corresponding message in the syslog, or the /var/mqm/log/*, or the /var/mqm/errors/*.LOG (of course there is no error, just a successfuly creation of the QM).

Where can I view a completelisting a qm creation, etc

Thanks

You can look at the mqs.ini file to see that a qmgr has been created.

Creating a QMGR on the command line only produces about 3 lines of output, not particularly interesting. What were you hoping to see?

Actually, I was hoping to see when a queue is created, when a queue is deleted, when a channel is created, to see what activities happened in the past to that brought the system to its current state

Read this about configuration events: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmqv7/v7r0/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.mq.csqzax.doc%2Fmo11210_.htm

Hi,

MQ does do have a "change history" feature but you can turn on the queue manager's "Configuration Event" and then you will get an event message when something happens.

If you want change history then do a nighty run of dmpmqcfg (or SupportPac MO03) and check the results into your favorite change management system.

Also, if you are the MQAdmin then nothing should be changing if you have proper security.
