If memory serves, it's dspmqm. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Command not found is from the o/s telling you that the command you issued is not in the search path . _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Then look in the same directory for something similar to dspmqm... _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

What other commands?
Do a directory list. Are there any mq commands visible? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Wasn't dspmq introduced at around MQ 5.2? I remember writing a script long ago that would work out queue manager names by scanning /var/mqm/qmgrs because dspmq did not yet exist. _________________ Glenn |

is your intent inly to know if QM is running or not ?
May be u can try runmqsc <qmname>
if it works its running else it will give you the error.
No idea about 5.1 command... started my journey with 5.3 |

Give up on v5.1. Entirely.
If you are working for a company that is using it, and they want you to be in charge of it, then tell them you are in charge of it now and you will be upgrading it.
Otherwise, all of the docs for v5.1 are http://www-01.ibm.com/software/integration/wmq/library/library51.html
stop asking, start reading, thinking, trying and repeating. |

Probably one as out-of-date as the MQ version... _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
