Yes, the Linux WMQ Kit is what you want.... BUT

Ubuntu uses .deb package formats. The WMQ kits are designed for RHEL & SUSE which use .rpm package formats.

Personally, Ubuntu is about the last Linux distro I'd ever consider running WMQ on. WMQ can be made to run on Ubuntu but AFAIK it is very non standard and is a lot more effort than it is worth.

I'd download something like CentOS and work on that unless you have a real business need to use Ubuntu. If you have to run Ubuntu please ensure that you are using the server edition.

Go to google. Type 'wmq+ubuntu'. Click Search button.

Fedora uses the LSB (Linux Standard Base) root layout just like RHEL/CentOS so installing WMQ on Fedora is usually a doddle. The main issue at the moment is GNOME3 when MQExplorer needs GNOME2.
This can be overcome easily by configuring yum to use the right repo but apparently Fedora 19 has the cinamon packages included in the build.

Ubuntu/Debian does not use LSB so this can cause problems with some bits if you aren't careful. Trigger monitors come to mind but it has been a while since I tried to install WMQ on a non-LSB distro.

So, shall I take it that MQExplorer works fine on Fedora 19 ?
