We are using multi instances MQ/WMB V7 for high availability. A load balancer is used in front of the active and passive MBs to redirect workload if MB fail over take place. We will be installing Data Power box in front of the 2 MBs. We like to know how the DP box works with multi-instance MB. When the primary MB died, will the DP box know to redirect the work to the fail over MB (i.e. have similar smart as the load balancer)? If not, we will have to load balancer between DP and the 2 MBs.

The InfoCentre is a great place to learn about DataPower. The training classes are also wonderful places to network with people and learn about the technology.

DataPower works like any other appliance on your network. There is no black magic: it will operate as properly configured by the sys admin. It provides failover facilities for both incoming and outgoing requests. Recommend you use MQ as your outbound transport as there are added hardening features with this transport. Recommend you also attend training on DataPower or hire a consultant to configure the appliances and design your DP network. Don't try to pick this up on-the-fly as you'll be lost and tempted to post silly questions on forums.
