Hi all,
could anyone please advise the link to download WebSphere MQ 6.0 tria? IBM site has only 7th version (at least I've managed find only this one) but I need exactly 6th version. |

If you can't find it, that means it's no longer available. |

Contact your IBM sales rep and ask him to quote you on support options for V6. If you go for it, you will be entitled to download which ever binaries are covered in your extended support contract. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

MQ 6.0 was indeed excellent code. But it went out of support nearly 1 year ago. And you want the trial version of MQ 6.0? I doubt you will succeed; I think you should plan for the likely outcome that you will need to start using something more up to date, such as MQ 7.5. |

Thx lancelotlinc / mvic.
I'm a vendor for a big company which uses MQ 6.0 as a part of infrastructure.
I need this 6.0 trial to accelerate and simplify my development and debug process.
I can't use customer's MQ server during development, because dev and user acceptance testing occur in different not connected private networks.
Actually I don't understand, why IBM doesn't provide this for download. What I need - is just TRIAL version. From my perspective this is just analog of development version and it is in IBM's interest to keep it easy to download.
Other interesting thing is that I failed to find this trial in any other place on the internet. So looks I have only one option left - find someone who has this trial on some old hard disk. This is not against any license.
So please, could anyone who has share this trial binaries? |

Are you are already licensed for production WMQ 6.0? If so, contact your IBM representative.
If you are not licensed for production 6.0, have you been using (and reusing) a 90-day evaluation version of 6.0 for your development? If so, I believe that use is in violation of the trial license agreement.

I believe redistribution would be a violation of the license agreement. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Hi Bruce,
Ok, I see that I won't get help here for my issue.
Just the last attempt to clarify the issue:
1) I'm just a vendor. We have customer who is using MQ for a part of messaging infrastructure.
2) Customer for whom code is developed has 6.0 production license. And this is very-very-very thick license.
3) We (vendor) are developing code in our network and delivering it to customer environment.
4) We (vendor) are not going to use MQ for commerce. Actually we don't need MQ server for development. We just need MQ client, which is still available for version 6.0. But I'd like to have MQ server installed in our local env for time of development, to get faster feedback and run some integration tests.
We haven't used 90-day evaluations of 6.0 before. We are just connecting to this infrastructure in the first time.
This is odd situation: if our customer used 7.5 version, then I could download this trial from IBM website and had no issues. I guess 7.5 version is more valuable.
But I need an old one version, which is not supported any more, and was removed from IBM website. |

I believe that I would be in violation of the license agreement if I were to do what you ask. To do so would be unprofessional.

No need. You've been clear. You want access to a product for which you have no license, for a product which IBM no longer distributes or supports. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Thank you Bruce. Now I see that you are right.
I just feel lack of developer versions of IBM products. The same as ORACLE f.e. has.
Will go forward in half-blind mode . |

You don't need a 6.0 trial version, as the trial version is full-function - it does everything a production version of the product does.
I'm not a lawyer. It's been a while since I read, and agreed to, IBMs evaluation license. If memory serves, the 90-day evaluation is for proof-of-concept only, and not for development, debugging or production.

If you are working for the client/customer, you may be able to install the production version under their license. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Presumably from the customer he's trying to vend to. If they still have WMQv6.0 in their production environment then they presumably:
- still have the installation binaries somewhere in case they need to rebuild
- are not worried about production stability because they're using WMQv6.0
OR
- are paying a fortune for extended support _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
