just to add we want to install in console mode and not sure why it's referring to X11 (which is used for GUI) |

Do you not need to define a dummy X11 for console mode? Linux is not really my thing... _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

not sure what to do here, I thought X11 is not at all needed for console option. It's only needed if we try to install using GUI. |

Silent or headless mode often requires the X11 connection to be set up, even though it won't popup a window.... _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

If you 'unset DISPLAY' before running the installer what happens? |

Its just removing the variable which X clients use to determine where they should connect to. Hopefully your admin knows this |

Unix guy was using an old version of F-Secure for logginng in. Once he used Putty to log into the server, he never got the same error.
Now broker is installed. But one thing i observe is all files under /bin folder are owned by root. in V6 i see these files are owned by "bin::mqbrkrs"
bin files : /opt/IBM/mqsi/8.0/bin
V8: root:root
V6 : bin:mqbrkrs
Is that the way it will be in v8? |
