I am trying to create a multi-instance Broker on Windows at a client site. I'm using v8.0.0.1 and MQ 7.5.0.0 (patched with -ar option). My multi-instance Queue Managers are working fine (with the patch) and fail over perfectly.
My command to create the multi-instance Broker is:
Code: |
mqsicreatebroker MY.BRK -i user -a password -q MY.QM -e \\wnesb\pp_tpesbha1\WMB\IBMESBBRK
|
This returns:
Code: |
BIP8233E: Multi-instance Broker My.BRK, or an instance of that broker, cannot be created because the shared workpath \\wnesb\pp_tpesbha1\WMB\IBMESBBRK does not exist.
The broker instance needs to reference the shared workpath that cannot be accessed, or cannot be located.
Check that the server hosting the shared workpath is accessible.
If the shared workpath does not exist, use the mqsicreatebroker command to create the broker and the shared workpath.
|
The path exists and the user has permission to write to it. I suspect that this issue is similar to the one that necessitated MQ to introduce the "-ar" option on crtmqm that creates the shared files with a specified global group rather than the local mqm group.
The CIFS controller doesn't know about local mqm and mqbrkrs groups as in the docs here
Can anyone comment? PMR time?
Thanks,
Damian. |

WMB at 8.0.0.1 does not support running multi-instance with a queue manager created using the -a or -ar options on crtmqm without a small patch. So you will need to raise a PMR to get it.

Hi Damian/mgk:
Could solve the issue?, I have the same error, I created the PMR and they gave me the fix, but it didn't work.
They gave me the fix for this apar:
APAR IC88577
is the same fix that you got?
Many thanks
