It depends on what you think the question means. |

What does the official documentation officially say on the official definition of a shared variable and an external variable?
What do you think it means to "travel values of variables with messages"?
Are you using v8.0.0.1?
There are lots of ways to do things that resemble what you are asking about. But you are not asking in a clear and concise manner, so no specific answer can be given. |

Hello
My Requirement is to use the values assigned to environment or local environment variables in the next flow. Can we travel them through mQ in the next flow?? Please reply, if we can do this... |

It depends entirely on what you mean by "travel them through mQ".
Untill you can *define* that, nobody can answer your question.
There are *many* ways to *do* that. But you might think most of the ways to do that don't count as "travel them through mQ".
And there are many ways that you can "travel them through mQ" that you might decide aren't allowed or aren't the right way.
Your question demonstrates a lack of solid understand of what MQ is and what it isn't, and what Broker does and does not do.
It also demonstrates a poor understanding of 'requirement'.
The available choices also depend ENTIRELY on what version of Broker you are using. |

Thanks for urs inputs....
Again i will try to put my requirement....Is there is any way through which we can use the values of environment variables in the next flow using MQ messaging protocol or values of environment variables only confined to that flow only...... |

There are lots of ways.
But data stored in the Environment tree is specifically and documentedly scoped to exactly and only exist within the specific instance of the message flow that is currently executing.
You keep using things like "MQ messagign protocol" without being more specific.
Here's a question.
Does it count as "using the values in the next flow using MQ Messaging protocol" if you change the contents of the actual message on the queue to include the relevant values?
I know how I would answer that question. But how I would answer that question *has nothing to do* with how *you* would answer that question.
Read, think, try, repeat. |

Yes - but you will need to copy them into some other place ( maybe into an MQRFH2 header ) so that they get transferred to the next flow. The Environment tree is not visible outside of the message flow that owns it.
mqjeff will now tell me that there is no such thing as an MQRFH2 header these days... |

It's still pantomime season, so... "Oh yes there is!" *
* depending on WMQ version etc. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
