I searched this website, I did not find any replies saying that anyone got the EmailInput or EmailOutput working with Gmail.
If some one got the experience, could you please confirm me YES?
Thanks, |

Can GMail work with POP3?
What problems are you experiencing?
Does your flow work with other email providers?
(Hint, I test my email flows with Axigen) _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions. |

Oh, and please do not double post. It is not appreciated. Please consider that at this point in time most of the regular responders to this forum are enjoying their Christmas Holidays. Some of us have to work over the holidays when we'd rather be doing other things with our families. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

As far as I remember, there is a setting in the javamail to specify if you support SSL/TLS or not.
However, there is no such setting I can see somewhere.
Regarding your answer, I used to get EmailOutput node working with other email vendor, but not the gmail.
So your answer does not help.
I am sorry for another post, but I don't think this is duplicate because I want to get a simple answer from here before I spend more time on this.
Generally speaking, I feel disappointed with message broker email solution.
However, this is not important any more, because I might consider using JavaMail rather than message broker Mail node as solution to customer.
Enjoy your Xmas |

As you have gotten it to work with another email vendor then the problem lies in the GMail system itself. Perhaps Google have done a Microsoft and introduced 'new security features' that (in Microsoft's) case deliberately broker some email clients to exchange connectivity?
If you have a work around then go with that. But you should really raise a PMR then the IBM Engineers can
1) Give you an definite Yes/No as regarding connectivity to GMail
2) Help you formally get it working. This might need an iFix from IBM.
Both results will result in a better WMB Product in the long run. It is only by reporting issue like this to IBM that the implementation that you are unhappy with can be improved and make life easier for the rest of us.
Personally, I'd avoid GMail like the plague. Google reads and extracts metadata from every email. I consider that this is not secure even if the connectivity to the GMail system is encrypted. They are also able to change the connection requirements at a moments notice. This could result in even your JavaMail solution suddenly not working.
Worth Considering?
Yes I know you have been told to 'use GMail' but do the people who told you that know the risks associated with it? My guess is probably not. _________________ WMQ User since 1999
