Does anyone know the variable that needs to be set to have WMB generate java heap dump when an out of memory error occurs?

This doesnt do the trick

export JAVA_DUMP_OPTS="ONANYSIGNAL(NONE),ONINTERRUPT(NONE),ONOUTOFMEMORY(HEAPDUMP[3])"

Thanks

It's not clear how much use you'll derive from this, but presumably if you're trying it you've got a reason for doing so.

In general, troubleshooting Broker events should be handled by troubleshooting Broker, rather than the JVM that runs as part of an EG.

jconsole can connect to a properly configured JVM in a DataFlowEngine to display all the normal stats of that JVM. jconsole is a standard part of every JRE since 1.4.

Thx
using kill -3 does the trick, couldn't get the JVM to trigger a heap dump when using mqsichangeproperties Qmgr -e EG -o ComIbmJVMManager - n jvmSystemProperty -v "-DONOUTOFMEMORY=HEAPDUMP" (tried a few variations on this)

Cheers
