I have configured 2 VM machines with same RHEL5 (actually cloned from one another) and installed MQ V7.0.1.3 trial mode. The 2 hosts are Natted and ping is fine.
I have setup QM1 as multi-instance . file system is
Quote:
/MQHA/data/QM1 & /MQHA/log/QM1
VMHOST-A is active for it and VMHOST-B is standby host. Its working fine.
I have verified with amqmfsck -w /MQHA from both hosts and output seems to be fine.
I have created & started another queue manager QM2 on VMHOST-B and its standby is VMHOST-A. this one is also working fine.
At a time VMHOST -A is active node for QM1 & passive node for QM2. both are on /MQHA mount.
my doubt is, the filesystem lock provided on nfs4 is it completly on /MQHA directory or /MQHA/data/<QMgr>?
Neither ... the locking for multi-instance queue manager is done at the file level with leases being obtained on such file objects as 'active', 'master', and 'standby'.
These files can be found in the qmgr DataPath directory from the mqs.ini.
