Hello, I was interested in an application(AIX)that uses a MQ trigger monitor on a queue and when a message is dropped in this queue, it resets the specfied channel to 1. The message will be coming from a windows workstation. Does anyone know of any examples for for an AIX program to reset a channel to 1, Java or C
thanks alot |

I am a little confused here....what do you mean "set it to 1"? Do you mean set the message sequence number to one, if so....why would you want to do that? If you do that you will need to reset the other end too won't you, otherwise the next time the channels try to bind they will fail.
What is it you are trying to accomplish? |

thanks for the reply kevin, I want to actually set a program so....
on the workstation if someone kicks off a program the rebuilds the qmgr locally, it will also drop a message in a remote queue. The remote queue has a trigger monitor on it so it immediately sends the message to the AIX box. the aix box trigger monitor picks up the message and then kicks off a program that resets the corresponding channel-- that way both are reset on both tiers. currently if a person rebuilds the qmgr they must then manually go out the AIX box and reset chl(X14.to.user) and reset chl(user.to.x14)
Im not too familiar with the aix side, we are curretnly running mq 5.2 on the aix and 5.3 on the windows.
thanks again |
