Hi,
I am working on a requirement of webservices. I am planning to use the httpinput node to consume data and the http reply to send reponses back.
But i do not want to expore the middleware system to the outside world.
In a similar kind of requirement, we avoided exposing by using the MQIPT.
I am now not sure what can be done so that out middleware remains behind the scene.
Please advise what can i do.
Thanks |

If you are using Web Services, why do you choose HTTPInput node? Why do you not choose SOAPInput node?

The OP might be doing Restful WebServices.
If the OP wants to do the same sort of thing as MQIPT does for WMQ then I think he should look into IP Tunneling or even a VPN. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Just proper configuration to an edge HTTP server that does reverse proxying. |

Thanks for your replies.
We are using WMB v6, and hence have the option of only the HTTP nodes.
But the main issue, is there any proxy similar to the MQIPT that i can put in front of the WebSphere so that it is not exposed directly to the outside world. |

Before anyone says it,
WMB V6 went out of support last year (unless you pay IBM a whole heap of money... )
You really should not ne doing any new development on V6. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

I am aware of it.. It is under the plan to get the system upgraded.
But even if i am going to use a later version of MB, what would be the alternative.

Any HTTP server can handle this, and be configured according to it's own rules to know about the broker HTTP listener port.
But there's nothing that provides assistance in identifying the broker ports and providing an output file that can be used as a config for an http server.
You have to manually look at your broker configuration and manually create the necessary configuration in the http server. |
