Probably it uses XSLT internally ? |
No it doesn't. If you run a mapping node through user trace, you can see the ESQL it's generated for you being executed. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Don't assume this holds true for V8. |

I shall look forward to the arrival of a copy of WMBv8 with increased interest.... _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Not really my area, but I do think a couple of facts would help here:
- The WMB v8 mapping node is not far off the performance of hand-coded ESQL, and may even outperform ESQL for some benchmarks.
- I find that Java and C++ go rather slowly when run under a debugger .That doesn't mean that they are 'staggeringly slow' languages.
If I was a moderator I would adjust the subject line on this post - it's a fair question, but the subject line is quite misleading and it could easily put people off a *very* nice feature of WMB v8.
FWIW, I think Vitor's in for a treat when he gets his copy of v8. There's is a huge difference between the v7 and v8 mapping nodes in both performance and usability ( oh, and underlying technology too). |

Exactly the V8 has mapping node s almost equal to WPS... there's a lot of difference between V7 and V8... |
