Currently we installed WMB in windows operating system. Client would like to move WMB installables to cloud environment.
we would like to know
1. How to install WMB in cloud enviornment
2. Any Pre-requisite software required from IBM for cloud specfic.
3. How to move the interface developed in WMB windows environment into cloud environment.
cloud is the special environment where both software and hardware is leased from third party. |

Our client dont want to take care of this hardware and software maintennance . So they have found a third party who will give support of systems , network, application, softwares. Since our client moving into Cloud we need to migrate our wmb interfaces into that particular cloud environment. |

So what have you tried in your DEV environment and how has that been working for you? _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Yes, WMB is fully supported in the cloud environment.
Most cloud providers run RHEL, and WMB runs very well on RedHat. This link outlines the hardware requirements for same:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27017125
In fact, the WMB runtime architecture is built to be fully hands-off in a production environment, whether it is in the cloud or on your LAN. Extensive use of BuildForge, ClearQuest, ClearCase in a WMB environment promotes the software engineering integrity needed to successfully operate WMB in a cloud environment.
If you google my linked-in page to send me a mail, I can provide client references where this has been successfully implemented at top tier, household-brand clients around the world. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

You want to look at the Hypervisor Edition. |

There is some great value to be had using the Hypervisor edition with IBM WebSphere CloudBurst Appliance. First, you get a preconfigured blade server where your users can self-provision resources through a Web interface. Resource usage is monitored and reported, where you can bill back usage of your cloud appliance to the end user. The whole package comes with alot of value-adds like virtual machine management, auto-provisioning, virtualization-based disaster recovery, chargeback; where your customers pick from a menu of metered services across a virtualized infrastructure. Think of this as a glorified electric company, where you buy CPU cycles instead of electricity. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

Hi rkailasam2,
You mentioned that support and maintenance is the problem you want to get rid of...so I'm assuming you are not going with a literal private cloud strategy (where you would *still* be the owner of the environments) but a public cloud one...or at least a private cloud which is outside the data centers of your organization...and thus supported by this third party...
Which one ?
Regards. |
