Hi All,
All of a sudden, today, I noticed that sender-reciever channel pair are not running between two qmgrs on distributed system.
I saw an error in the qmgr error log (as shown below) with "The return code from TCP/IP is 10061 (X'274D'). "
Code: |
----- amqrccca.c : 921 --------------------------------------------------------
12/28/2011 16:33:28 - Process(6708.1) User(MUSR_MQADMIN) Program(amqrcmla.exe)
Host(vagupta7)
AMQ9202: Remote host 'localhost (127.0.0.1) (1415)' not available, retry later.
EXPLANATION:
The attempt to allocate a conversation using TCP/IP to host 'localhost
(127.0.0.1) (1415)' was not successful. However the error may be a transitory
one and it may be possible to successfully allocate a TCP/IP conversation
later.
ACTION:
Try the connection again later. If the failure persists, record the error
values and contact your systems administrator. The return code from TCP/IP is
10061 (X'274D'). The reason for the failure may be that this host cannot reach
the destination host. It may also be possible that the listening program at
host 'localhost (127.0.0.1) (1415)' was not running. If this is the case,
perform the relevant operations to start the TCP/IP listening program, and try
again.

I can see that the listener is running on the receiving queue manager. There is no firewall between the queue managers as both of them are on the same machine but on different ports, on windows.
MQv7.0.1.3

TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

Nope.. Nothing has been changed at the receiver end , I mean nothing on receiver channel/listener/port/protocol. _________________ *Life will beat you down, you need to decide to fight back or leave it. |

WebSphere MQ is software that is installed on a computer, which will have an Operating System - try being a little less parochial and stating that nothing has changed with the configuration of WMQ, and try being a little more holistic - something changed! _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Something changed:
Things to look for amongst others:
- Windows policy change => multiple implications
- windows firewall has been turned on (possibly without your knowledge)
- qmgr is being run by an unexpected user id
- qmgr is being run by an expected user id but the user id is lacking necessary priviledges
- mq listener is being run by a user id lacking necessary priviledges/authority
- and as it is windows, did you think about starting the qmgr with the -si flag?
Have fun _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Yup...being more holistic then before & by being less parochial again... I also do believe if something is not functioning now some where then something has been changed in the past.

Before posting the case here, I did check the authorizations on the respective mq objects (as you said)..as per one of the old posts at mqseries.net. Thanks fjb_saper indeed.
Before posting here, I found this link and looked at it. I was not sure that it was valid for the newer versions of mq, because this is an old tech note. anyways...
Things are working now..That means channel is at RUNNING State.
( I did bounce my machine though, as I had a doubt on garbage clean up which was being done by OPS on friday using some CCleaner utility on my machine, might be that caused the issue. ) _________________ *Life will beat you down, you need to decide to fight back or leave it. |
