Hi,

Can somebody help me how I can send simple text message to the output.
It wouldn't be XML or CSV or anything else just the simple, normal text with date and time data.

Thenk you.

What output? File, WMQ message, email, TCP/IP?

So already it has structure: some text & a timestamp. Already it's not "simple".

In any event, you need a message set to write to any output. Even if the message set has only 1 element you're rolling by hand.

Hi Vitor,

I want to send a simple sentence with timestamp in it.
No need to XML tags or CSV separators.

Thanks for yor answer.

I can send it in XMLNSC domain, but is not suitable now.

So you are confused about how to construct an unmodeled stream of data, that happens to consist of a set of characters, and then another set of characters that is dynamically configured, and then potentially a third set of characters.

And you are confused then about how to send this constructed stream of characters to an "output" of some kind.

This indicates that you have failed to understand any of the training you have had on Broker.

or that you have failed to take any training and are desparately hoping, despite copious evidence to the contrary, that this site will provide you with free training.

Read, think, try, repeat.

Hi mqjeff,

You are right. I'm not a top MB developer not at all. I thought I would get a small help here.
Now I know why I will not come here so frequently.
I'm sure you are genius in everything.

Bye.

But you still need a message set. It doesn't need an XML format or any separators.

No, it wouldn't be. Because it produces XML not text.

This much is obvious.

I thought you did. I apologise for not giving you the answer you expected but that's just how the product works.

We'll miss you. Honest.

Certainly so far as WMB goes.

No, strictly you don't, but if you need to ask you should stick with using one rather than the alternative.

Remember, not everyone has your genius....

Execuse me, please.
But when my colleagues held the christmas party on the ground floor and I work on the first floor because my job depend on it, because my boss find out this job at the end of this year and of course when I have finished it but XMLNSC domain and suddenly it turned out that it was not good I have no humor to puzzle about your mystic answer.
And I don't want a free training just a helping sentence.
For example:
"Maybe TDS will help you."

Thank you.

I don't offer career advice for reasons obvious to anyone who's familiar with my career but IMHO if you job depends on completing a task you're not trained to do in an unrealistic timescale it's not a job worth holding on to.

So your boss is as good with requirements as he is with training? I stick with my assertion above.

And we have no humor to deal with your problems. If you don't like the advice you're being given here or the way it's being given, seek help elsewhere.

No, you want the answer spelt out. I've told you twice what to do.

TDS will not help you. Additional reading skills and/or an attitude adjustment might.

As it's Christmas...something like this will work:
Code:
SET OutputRoot.BLOB.BLOB = CAST "This is my output string" AS BLOB CCSID 1208;

More strictly,
Code:
      set myString = 'This is my starter string'||CAST(CURRENT_TIMESTAMP AS CHARACTER FORMAT 'T')||'This is my trailer string';
Set OutputRoot.BLOB.BLOB = CAST(myString as BLOB CCSID 1200);

If you had taken the time to READ the information center and THINK about what you wanted to do, and TRIED a few things, you would have SOLVED THIS YOURSELF a couple of days ago.

And you wouldn't still be struggling with it, and you wouldn't still be angry about the people who post here.
