@PeterPotkay

you didn´t read the whole post - right?

the INITIAL start after i created the queue manager must be done either via mq explorer or strmqm with option -ss. if you just use strmqm <qmgr name> then the queue manager is started under your credentials and that could have caused my problems according to ibm support.

and i have one cluster group with all 5 (6 since yesterday) queue managers in.

@fjb_saper

doing the INITIAL start with -si is a very bad idea for a queue manager you want to put under mscs control. i did that and according to ibm my problems came from this.

The good book says that MSCS-controlled queue managers should be set to manual start-up, and that the cluster manager should be used to stop/start the queue manager resource...

1. the queue manager is manual when you create it with crtmqm <qmgr name>
2. how do you use the cluster manager to stop/start the queue manager when you just created it?

but yes, AFTER you added the queue manger to the cluster group you control it via the cluster manager.

You can't. You start it to make sure all is OK, then stop it and migrate it into MSCS control, from which point on you can.

Because you may regard it as not being useful as you've had the opportunity to 'play' with MSCS-controlled queue managers, there are people whom have not had that opportunity (yet) and having the full detail may be of benefit to them in the future.

If you are looking for private consultation, there are a number of folks here who make their living consulting ... or attempt to.

Also, what you believe is irrelevant may be an important factor for someone working to resolve this issue for you. Since you are asking for help, be prepared to answer whatever questions you are asked.
