Has anyone ever setup the 3.3.2 webclient in WSAD 5.0?
If so.. were the instructions the same as WSAD 4.0? :-?
Just in case your wondering where I found the documentation on how to setup the webclient in WSAD 4.0.
Look in the <Workflow install directory>\webclient\unsuppd.html

Hi,
I suppose that you were talking about WAS instead of WSAD. The WebClient setup in WAS v5.0 is similar to that in WAS v4.0. But the configuration of WebClient for Workflow v3.4 is different from that for Workflow v3.3.2 or previous ones in terms of the windows version, as for v3.4 you can now configure a WebClient in GUI.

| It was actually pretty easy. I created a webclient that uses a non Websphere Servlet container. Then imported it into WSAD 5.0...... I also had to import the Workflow Jar files. Hrmmmm can't think of anything else. |

I used that method to get it working in the WSAD 5.0 test environment, there were a couple of XML files that needed changing too, even when I exported the app again it would work properly in WAS 5.0 though. I never did get it working. I think WF 3.3.2 isn't supported on WAS 5.0, WF 3.4 is though. |

Yes, the web.xml file needs to be changed to reflect the location of the WebClient.properties file. Although since I just imported it over the top of what I had in my workspace it pointed at the original location of the file inside of the Workflow directory. I just left it alone until I started changing things for different versions I was working with.

I thought the fmczutil program had a specific option for WAS 5.0. I'll have to check again. |

| cant use fmczutil to automatically configure web client using WAS 5.0...but u can do it manually just like how u deploy any WAR or EAR file |

i am getting problems while installing configuring webclinet in Websphere 4.0 . My machine name (node name in websphere ) starts with a numeric , so the configuration utility always treats this as an IP address and prompt me to enter a valid IP. But when i enter the IP address properly it gives some other exception like node can't be found etc...
any thoughts appreciated... i tried to hard code the node name in the .xml file but it didn't work

I always give the hostname instead of IP address while configuring the web-client.
I have given host names like
but not
Maybe it will not take names like those.
I know the config util is adamant about a few things ... on what platform are you trying to configure the web-client?

the WAS4.0 was running.

There is a chance that the config utility having found the first character to be a numera1 is expecting TCP/IP address and is expecting dots may be. You can try a couple of things.
make an alias for your host name and have this alias start with an alphabet.
OR
use localhost instead of the machine name.

I hard coded the node name i the fmcoh40.skel file . This time i get a different exception

Hi,
I had to manually deploy the webclients's(MQWF 3.3.2) .ear in WSAD4.03 to make it working.
i believe MQWF 3.3.0 doesn't work with WSAD 4.0 (or Websphere 4.0)
. It needs WebSphere 3.5
but MQWF 3.3.2 works with WSAD 4.0 and 5.0
