Hi All,
We had made the db configurations ORACLEDB n the real time message broker environment with DSN as PINKY and with SID PINKY01.Then we noticed that oracle DB is created with ServiceName - PINKY01 and not SID. Now we i think we need to change the odbc.ini stanza to be ORACLERACDB instead of ORACLEDB. I have some questions here.
1. We do not have any parameters for AlternateServers to be entered. Is this parameter mandatory in the ORACLERACDB stanza?
2. We need to get help from a different team to make the changes if any.Wanted to confirm whether I am in the right direction/any more setting has to be taken care of ? |

First and most important question. Answer this before you do anything else.
Does the existing configuration *work*?
If YES, leave it alone.
If NO, then you don't need to do anything other than change the single line that specifies SID to state ServiceName instead.
Secondly, you need to make sure that it is really serVICE name and not servER name. If it's servER name, then you might need a full Oracle client install and tnsnames.ora file. |

Hi Jeff,

I tried executing the flow without changing the SID to SERVICE NAME. I am getting the below exception:
Insert
Type:INTEGER:5
Text:CHARACTER:60
Insert
Type:INTEGER:2
Text:CHARACTER:1509
Insert
Type:INTEGER:5
Text:CHARACTER:[IBM][ODBC 20101 driver]1509
I verified the older post in this forum for this error. The answer was to set
ColumnSizeAsCharacter=1
NLS_CHARACTERSET is AL32UTF8
That is also done.
