You've got a v5.3 queue manager on a 64-bit version of Solaris 9?

No you wouldn't.

We keep telling you why.

You only hear what you want to.

But if you feel you're making progress then good for you.

Interesting.

How's he going to spot the difference between a manually created channel & a scripted one? How do you you won't need to change the channel definitions anyway?

A lot worse than this believe me. What you've been given here is a simple WMQ task.

Wait until you need to set up an overlapping cluster, or SSL, or find a lost message in a multi-queue manager estate.

naah i am not going to change any channel definition, so I just created a channel with the same name and authority of mqm

and created a listener,

as i have never added the statement to the /etc/services for listener actually i dont know how to .. have to look for it how to do that.

but i am confussed that weather i should make an entry in the /etc services or make different listeners.

I hope your audit / security function don't find out.

That's going to be an interesting search. I hope the box admin's don't find out what you're up to.

I'm now leaning to the opinion this thread is a wind-up by an experienced WMQ person. Just too many of the old familiar newbie mistakes to be true, too many buttons being pushed, just slightly too bizare....

i think making a listener will be gud choice cause it will be easier to troubleshoot too as its mq ver 7.0

AFAIK, it will work, but I doubt its supported by IBM, and 64 bit apps won't be able to call MQ because there are no 64 bit MQ libraries and all the MQ processes run as 32 bit.

Hence my surprise - it's unsupported and you have application problems.

I repeat my suspicion this thread is a wind-up.

Quite a mix and totally misleading. I thought he was talking about V 5.3 and not about V 7.0
