Hi,
After I create a basic server connection type channel in MQ explorer, my MQ explorer is showing status inactive, even after I try to change the channel status from inactive to running by right-clicking on the channel and executing Start, it is saying "The request to stat the channel was accepted. (AMQ4008)" but the status still remain inactive. As a result I cannot put messages into the queues. Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks

Wrong assumption. The channel becomes only active when the corresponding end of the client connection channel is active...

This same question was asked, almost word for word, in the last few days. You could save yourself and ourselves time if you tried using the search facility before you post.
To sumarize, yes it does show inactive. Working as designed.

Really? You're certain it's a result of this? Having fully investigated the error messages and reason codes you got from the put call? So fully you see no point in posting them here? Or telling us anything about your configuration or how you're trying to put the messages?

From what you've said:
- Something is broken
- Looking for earlier, nearly identical postings may help you
If that's not enough, try giving us a little bit more to work with. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I suggest you read the manuals in more detail as regards SVRCONN channels and when they run. Would you expect a RCVR channel to just run if there was nothing at the other end of it? And you will find that you are more than able to put messages in queues using a SVRCONN to connect to a queue manager - provided you invoke the channel in some way. Go through the Quick Beginnings section of the installation guide for your platform, especially the part about verifying a client-to-server configuration. I'd be interested in you reporting back what you found. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
