Hello,
I'm setting up ssl on svrconn channels for mq administration. I'm able to choose between 2 de facto standards for mq administration: MQ Explorer and MO71. With MO71 it seems to me that I have to stash password otherwise it won't work, and then it doesn't ask for password. With MQ Explorer it asks me 2 times (I guess once per each certificate store). Hence, 0 or 2 times, while desired number would be 1, per establishing 1 connection. How can I achieve this with any of these tools? |

If you go into the Preferences->WebSphere MQ Explorer->Passwords, you can specify a stash file to hold the passwords.
You can then specify a user defined key to act as a "password" to the stash file. It should then prompt you for this password when MQExplorer starts up, and not again. |

Doesn't quite fully work for me. I get asked the password for the stash file and again twice for the each of the broker connections... that use the same keystore/truststore as the qmgr... Another area for improvement for the toolkit team...

The Broker Explorer component makes several different connections under the covers, particularly if you are trying to view statistics.
These connections are not, it's true, handled directly by the MQ Explorer systems. In part because at least one of them is a JMS connection and not an MQ Java connection....
So, yes, Broker Explorer is NOT the same thing as MQ Explorer and the Preferences for MQ Explorer do not apply to Broker Explorer.
But there was no mention otherwise of Broker Explorer. |
