We have a requirement wherein supplier will put one file each in 10000 directories and we need to pick it up from there.
We proposed a solution wherein there will ve a java code whcih will pick up all the files and dump it in single folder and FileInput will pick it up from there
But they dont want java code and want the stuff to be done in FileInput node
Is there any way we can do this.
Please help
Thanks |

10,000 directories?
That's insane.
No, in general you can't handle this without putting in a flow with 10,000 FileInputs.
Look at something like MQFTE or etc.
Or make all 10,000 of those directories actually be symlinks to one common directory. |

What are the odd that the filenames are identical? _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions. |

I'd say fairly good - I'm postulating a retail solution where each store has the same application that transmits sales data, stock levels or so forth and does so by writing out a hard coded file name. Through the magic of the network, these files are routed to the directory for an individual store.
I could be completely wrong, don't much care if I am and it doesn't affect the OP's insane requirement 1 jot. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Again, this is not a task ideally suited for Broker - at least at the current level.
This is a task that is ideally suited for any number of B2B or managed file transfer solutions - like MQFTE or Sterling Connect Direct or whatever. |
