Can somebody help me understanding this sample question on IBM site.
A customer has an existing MQSeries application in which Windows 2000 clients perform queries which are serviced by IMS applications running on an OS/390 system. They currently maintain a network of 5000 branch offices that operate over TCP/IP. Expansion plans will see this number increasing significantly in the near future. What set-up must be performed to ensure that inbound channels from the branch offices can be connected to any queue manager in the queue sharing group? (Select 2 answers.)

a. Define the receiver channels with the QSGDISP(SHARED) attribute.
b. Define the sender channels with the QSGDISP(SHARED) attribute.
c. Ensure both TCP/IP listeners are active on each queue manager in the
queue sharing group.
d. Configure a Dynamic DNS server to redirect inbound connections to an
available queue manager.
e. Ensure the RQMNAME on the Windows 2000 clients remote queue
definition is configured to be the queue sharing group name implement
classes of service

Answers are d and E.

I am not sure how the DNS will come in to picture here and why the channels does not need to be part of SHARED group.. I never worked on os390 so it might be a really silly question but I still will dare ask you ..

thanks for the answers in advance..

We've the same scenario. 1 Qsharing, 3 QMGRS, 2 IMS +10000 clients conns
We have made some tests with QSharing Queues (not with shared Channels) with local pgm's in OS/390 doing MQCONN to the QSharing Group. The load balancing were perfect. (30 MQconns, 10 x QMGR).
We suppose that shared channels will make the same over clients conns.
In stress test we have connected 9000 client under 1 QMGR, & 17000 conns with 2 QMGR's, putting 400 tx/seg (on 10 Queues on the QSG) to 1 IMS during 3-4 hours & no problem. (with data & access to DB's DLI, DB2, ORACLE,....).
Regards.

a. Define the receiver channels with the QSGDISP(SHARED) attribute.

No such attribute for channels, so this answer is wrong.

Both TCP/IP listners??? You would not need 2 listners just because you have queue sharing, so this answer is wrong.

d. Configure a Dynamic DNS server to redirect inbound connections to an
available queue manager.

The Queue Sharing seminar from the conferance specifically mentioned that you can use dynamic DNS to connect to any mover in the queue sharing group.
Also, from the Intercommunication manual, under the Conname parameter for channels:
"If the transport type is TCP
This is either the hostname or the network address of the remote machine
(or the local machine for cluster-receiver channels). For example,
(MACH1.ABC.COM) or (19.22.11.162). It may include the port number, for
example (MACHINE(123)). It can include the IP_name of a z/OS dynamic
DNS group or a network dispatcher input port."
So this answer is correct.

e. Ensure the RQMNAME on the Windows 2000 clients remote queue
definition is configured to be the queue sharing group name implement
classes of service

This is answer is correct, because of the following quote from the App. Prog. Ref.
"If ObjectName is the name of a shared queue that is owned by a remote queue-sharing group (that is, a queue-sharing group to which the local queue manger does not belong), ObjectQMgrName should be the name of the queue-sharing group. The name of a queue manager that belongs to that group is also valid, but this is not recommended as it may cause the message to be delayed if that particular queue manager is not available when the message arrives at the queue-sharing group. "
