Greetings,

The client I am at is running SUSE Enterprise Linux version 11. We are trying to figure out the kernel parameters. The Quick beginnings guide shows this:

* kernel.msgmni = 1024
* kernel.shmmni = 4096
* kernel.shmall = 2097152
* kernel.sem = 500 256000 250 1024
* fs.file-max = 32768
* net.ipv4.tcp_keepalive_time = 300

from http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmqv7/v7r0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.mq.amq1ac.doc/lq10410_.htm

while the ipcs -l command shows:

ltcmqfte01:/etc # ipcs -l

------ Shared Memory Limits --------
max number of segments = 4096
max seg size (kbytes) = 18014398509481983
max total shared memory (kbytes) = 4611686018427386880
min seg size (bytes) = 1
------ Semaphore Limits --------
max number of arrays = 1024
max semaphores per array = 250
max semaphores system wide = 256000
max ops per semop call = 32
semaphore max value = 32767
------ Messages: Limits --------
max queues system wide = 1916
max size of message (bytes) = 65536
default max size of queue (bytes) = 65536

We can figure out where most of them matchup, but the kernel.sem field is jumbled compared to the semaphore limits field from the ipcs -l

Can anyone help us out and see if everything is ok?

Thanks

That is a nifty script. Thank you for that, I'm not sure how I didn't find that earlier.
