i have a group that wants to only read MQ using the MQ explorer. i thought i follwed IBM's instructions but i'm having issues. i can connect but i don't see anything. No queues, no channels.
has anybody done this with an iseres? PS i'm on V6.1 of MQ |

I think it does not matter whether it is an Iseries or any other platforms. There are three things:
Have explorer setup. It requires access to certain queues and a few other requirements.
Create an user/profile and grant connect, inq and dsp permission to qmgr, and whatever other permission you need on the desired MQ objects
use that user as mca user
( if you have other people using explorer, create a separate channel for readonly group. lets say SVRCONN.READONLY)
That should be enough |
