I m a new user of both JMS and MQSeries. Sorry for asking a very basic question. Can a programme written using Sun JMS API, be used in MQSeries without altering my code? Basically I want to write generic code for messaging without using MQSeries API but using SUN JMS API. Is this possible to run this same code on MQSeries without any alteration in code?
Yes. You need NOT have to change anything. You can install MA88 on the box. Configure Connection factory etc. using JMSAdmin tool. Include the JMS implementation from MQ Series in the class path and you should be all set to go. The whole idea of writing using JMS API is to be vendor independent.

thnx. that sounds great to me. But does Mqseries API provided any thing more which is not available in Sun JMS API? Can MQSeries client programme can also be written totally in SUN JMS API? Can U give me any place where comparision is avaialable between these two API?
JMS is a specification, that a MOM vendor may or may not implement. MQ Series has provided JMS implmentation along with some extension classes. But, if you use extension classes you won't be ale to use other JMS providers at later point.
