Hi,

I considering the difference between RCD and Validate. They can both be used to validate a message. And it seems RCD node contains all the functions that Validate node has. Therefore, I choose RCD most of time.

My question is, as we always say "survive the fittest". And I believe Validate node has some more advantages that I haven't found. Is there anyone who can let me know when is the best choice to use Validate node.

Well...this is what the infocenter says:

ResetContentDescriptor node
Use the ResetContentDescriptor node to request that the message is reparsed by a different parser.

Validate node
Use the Validate node to check that the message that arrives on its input terminal is as expected. You can use this node to check that the message has the expected message template properties (the message domain, message set, and message type) and to check that the content of the message is correct by selecting message validation.

What don't you understand?

Thank you, Kimbert.

Now I get the idea that RCD node is not the best practice to be used to validate message. It's mainly used to reparse message. Seems I used the wrong node before

There is something that I don't understand here...

You asked a question. I went to the publicly-available infocenter, and pasted in some text. You read that text, and now you know the answer.

So...why couldn't you go to the infocenter and find the information for yourself?

Hi, Kimbert

I have to say that I did refer to infocenter when thinking about this question. However, I just made things so complicated when studying more about it. It give me a lesson that sometimes if we are trapped in the question, the best choice is to return to the original and think in another way, which can be helped.

Sorry to have borthered you so much.

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.

Or use a google search for:

"message broker version 6.0 infocenter" - to get info about version 6.0

"message broker version 6.1 infocenter" - to get info about version 6.1

"message broker version 7 infocenter" - to get info about version 7

You should get it as a first link.

Or, open your toolkit, then go to the menu->Help->Help Contents
