So i have tried the following,

under deploy\jms
deploying the wqm.jmsra.ra and configuring it for NoTransaction, no dice there. And also changing the config of the jms-ds.xml to reference it

configuring the jms-ra.rar to use NoTransactions

still searching....

You're doing something wrong there. This should work. Also verify that you set the concurrency to 1 (MDB type setting).
What are your JBoss and MQ versions?
When deploying the resource adapter did you also remove all pointer to the MQ jars?

i prolly should have stated this befreo but i am not using MDBs or ejbs of any kind i am trying to start up the connection as a pojo. So i dont know if that is my issue, but i didnt want to use MDBs because i am trying to fit this solution into a framework that i didnt design....

that being said
JBOSS 4.0.4
the MQClient 7.0.1.1

I am going to try removing the other instances of the libs so they dont clobber each other...

fjb_saper - thanks for all the help!!! its greatly appreciated

I'm not sure that this version of JBoss will work with V 7.x of MQ.
If you run into trouble try version 6.0.2.9 of the MQClient / resource adapter. Also there are a lot of JMS fixes between 7.0.1.1 and 7.0.1.2 of MQ.
We have something working with JBoss (don't know which version) and that level of MQ (6.0.2.9).
Have fun
