I am about to embark on configuring a windows WMQ client that will monitor queues on one of our WMQ servers. This business unit can't afford a full MQ srever so we have decided to deploy a client gateway.

My question is when I should use runmqtmc or the MA7K support pac. Is there any key decision points that would lead me to use one over the other?

My research so far leads me to lean towards MA7K because:

- setting up the options (retry, ssl) appears to be simpler/easier
- autmatically runs as a service
- has built in connection retry
- generates events that allow ease of monitoring

Comments appreciated.

Ma7k is, of course, a Cat 2 supportpac. Which means "no official service", but I've heard the *current* -author- of ma7k is very good.

Yes, ma7k has way more options than runmqtmc.
