When sending a message from an application on a Sun unix box using a direct MF client attach server connection to the QMgr on the MF....a CICS transaction is supposed to trigger. The triggering works, except there is a 30 second delay.
Before we went to direct MF client attach, we had a QMgr on both Unix and MF platforms and used send/receive channels between the 2 QMgrs for message delivery. There are no delays in the CICS trans getting triggered in this scenario.
Any ideas on why we are experiencing the trigger delay when sending the message directly to the MF using client attach?
Thanks, Diane |

When you say the trigering is delayed, do you mean that the generation of the trigger message to the init queue is delayed by 30 seconds (???) or CICS gets triggered immediatly, but doesn't "see" the message for 30 seconds (maybe the client is putting under syncpoint, and doesn't commit/disconnect for 30 seconds, at which time the message is available?)

It is not hitting the initq until the 'sending' transaction ends, thus forcing the commit. This should not require the transaction ending however, especially if we are performing an MQ commit.
We are in the process of applying a PTF from IBM on the mainframe side to see if that resolves the issue. Will post if we had success with this or not in case others run into the same issue. |
