While using the SAP input node we have to register an RFC ID on the sap system.
Do we have to do this everytime a new SAP input adapter is created or can we use teh same RFC_ID for different input adapters configured for various IDOC types. |

The RFC_ID ties into the SAP system for an RFC destination where the SAP system sends to.
If you want to differentiate the adapters per IDOC type you should have an RFC_ID per idoc type. This also means more setup for SAP. Have fun _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

This is the scenario here where already one IDOC type is in production without any message function defined to it. Consider this to be PORT A and message function to be blank
Now if I configure a new RFC ID to the same IDOC type with some message function and a new port. Consider this to be PORT B with message function have some value 'X'
If a above IDOC type gets triggered in SAP with message function X, Will it come from the second RFC ????
How would the behavior be ?? Any idea. Please help |

I will post it as a new query so that there is more clarity. |

Locked the other thread. I feel the history here gives it much more meaning.
I would suggest you look into the way the Adapter handles SAP outbound messages. My understanding is that it is based on the SAP JCO. You need to read up on the adapter's documentation and try your own thing...

I tried reading but could not really get anything out of it.
I'll try implementing this with the SAP guys and let everyone know.
But if anybody knows the solution already, please do let me know. Thanks |

I would suggest to use ALE Passthrough interface to configure Single Adapter for multiple IDOCs. Then youd don't required multiple RFC _IDs. |

Even if you use ALE passthrough, there is someway SAP should know to which port it has to send the IDOC to. We need to configure an RFC destination at the SAP end to get Inbound of Idocs working. |
