We are evaluating FTE as a solution for across-enterprise file transfer (Sending agent outside of Firewall). Our agent will be receiving from several different sending agents, and a sandbox will be configured where files can be dropped.
We would like to have a single receiving agent with a configured sandbox containing a drop folder per sender.
Code: |
/ SandBoxRoot
/ DropFolderSenderA
/ DropFolderSenderB
|
1. Is it possible to configure FTE such that SenderA can only drop to 'DropFolderSenderA'?
2. Can we make the other drop folders invisible or inaccessible to SenderA (The Agent for SenderA can only see or send to 'DropFolderSenderA')?
3. If these are not possible, is it possible (via Exits or similar) to set which drop folder the file gets written to during DestinationFileTransferBegin?
4. This leads to another question - As a receiving Agent, will there always be sender info (userId or sendingAgentName) available for the receiver to query? |

Not if the agent has access to all the QMs. Keep the cmd qm at your end. Only give the FTE client installable and if needed the agent qm to the sender. Thereby control all transfers to and from agent from your end.

Will be resolved with above.

you can ANT script or XML msg the entire environment to dynamically configure transfers.

I believe you can...you can anyway also set metadata for transfers.
Regards. |

If you have FTE 7.0.2, you will find that 7.0.2 created agents will have a 'UserSandboxes.xml' file under their configuration directory.
The comments in this file should explain how to configure how to get different 'roots' for each user who submitted a transfer. |
