We are considering pub/sub enabling some of our master files on OS390, (brokers are on Solaris machines) based on record. This could mean potentially high volumes (millions).
Does anyone have any experience with this? Would love to hear both the good and bad anecdotes.

We currently publish 1.8 Million messages and have 4.1 Million subscribed messages per month in our enterprise. We have been running with MQ Pub Sub and a single broker on an HP-UX 8 CPU 440 MHz 12288 MB Memory. This machine is also one of our main production application servers, so there is lots of other applications on it. We are going to convert this to MQSI Pub Sub in 1st Qtr 2003 and expect similar results. We have had very good results so far and expect few issues with the conversion.

The performance of WMQI/PPubsub depends on the configuration. On a SUN V880 (4CPU) we can transfer 3 Messages per Second and ExecGroup with retained publications. But we could tranfer 200 Messages per Second and ExecGroup with nonretained messages.
