mqsireportbroker (came out with release 6.1.0.4, but I would suggest looking at 6.1.05 or later if you plan to upgrade) |

Actually it shows the options set with mqsichangebroker.
Not sure about mqsisetdbparms, probably have to display the file system entries.
There is also the mqsireportproperties command, but again I don't think it does quite what you want. |

I don't think even v7 has an mqsireportdbparms command. Mqmatt may come along and correct me, however. |

On Solaris I found these settings in the filesystem. I don't remember exactly, sorry. I think it was something like
/var/mqsi/registry/<brokername>/DSN/
After DSN there are directories for every Database Alias with special settings. Perhaps you should look for this in your filesystem. Maybe on Windows the Windows Registry is used? |

Yes, as you guessed, the Windows Registry contains the information you need. However, I must stress that you are ON YOUR OWN here. I would NOT recommened that anyone, unless they are an expert starts playing around with regedit on any window system. You can do untold damage to your installation. It is far more dangerous that reading a few files on Unix/Linux. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

FYI, In V7, the Windows registry is no longer used - the data is in files on disk, just like the other platforms...

There is no command to report dbparms; we do know about it but if it's something you'd like to see, please raise a requirement to get it promoted. |

Here is the form to submit:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&q1=requirements+form&uid=swg21266802&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&cc=us&lang=all
Here is what I submitted on the topic earlier this year if you want to copy and paste. The more people officially request something, the more likely and sooner it will happen.

Customer Name:

Short title for the requirement:
> Ability to display all the mqsisetdbparms commands that have been issued, including the passwords.
Your email address or email address of the IBM Client Rep:
>
Describe the want or need:
> Currently we have no way of knowing what the password is currently set to for a DSN. We can dig around in the registry to find the name used, but the password is encrypted.
Suggested solution:
> Create a new mqsidisplaydbparms command that lists all the DSNs that are currently in effect for this broker, including the passwords. If the WMB Admin needs to know the password to set it initially with mqsisetdbparms, and the WMB Admin needs to be in the mqbrkrs group to issue mqsisetdbparms, what harm is there in showing all those IDs and passwords to that same WMB Admin? Being able to verify the passwords would help troubleshooting and planning future changes.
Time limit if any for resolution of the want or need:
> WMB 7.0? WMB 6.1.0.5?
Platform(s) involved:
> Linux and zLinux
IBM product(s) involved:
> Websphere Message Broker 6.1
Priority:
> Low
Justification of the priority above:
> A nice to have feature. |

There's only one place it could possibly be.
Oddly enough, this is also documented. |

It would be good if the MB explorer could also show this (mqsisetdbparms) information in the GUI. |
