We have active/passive type of production servers having AXWAY Integration Broker & MQ.The broker and MQ working directories (starting from /var/mqm) are kept under true copy/mirroring. As part of making the broker highly available, we are planning to run it alone in active-active mode.MQ will still run as active-passive and the broker directories will be removed from true copy. Both the brokers will make use of the SVRCONN (to keep the code same) to connect to the active MQ server.

1) Will there be any problem if we still keep the /var/mqm, mqs.ini & subdirectories under true copy (If they are under true copy, the broker on passive MQ server cannot access the MQ working directories).
2) Though /var/mqm, subdirectories, mqs.ini are created while installing MQ client are they really used? will the applications need them while making client call?

Please provide your comments.

The Client manual says, when an application running on a client environment issues an MQCONN or MQCONNX call, it identifies the connection in the following order
1.Using the contents of the ClientConnOffset or ClientConnPtr fields of the MQCNO structure
2.MQSERVER environment variable
3.Client Channel Definition Table
4.If the above are not set, then it searches for the CCDT file on the DefaultPrefix set in mqs.ini

However, In our case we have set the MQCHLLIB & MQCHLTAB. Even then it throws MQRC 2195- Unexpected error.
