I faced a very peculia problem. The transmission queue defined for the sender channel was in a locked state. on investigation, the log file showed that the sender channel had got an MQRC_CONNECTION_BROKEN.

When does this happen?

What could be the way out in such scenarios?

In this case I had to bring down the Queue Manager and restart it to free the lock on transmiussion queue.

Hi,
The transmission queue locks when data taken from the queue by the channel & transmission is under process. The message must be persistant in this case so that the sender channel gets acknowledgment of the message. Since acknowledgement has not received by sender channel the syncpoint is not commited. Hence the transmission queue locks. In this scenario.

I guess u stop & start the channel it should solve your problem. Queue manager restart is not the solution for this.

Regards,
Eknath

Hi,
In this the first step tried was to stop and start the sender channel. However it gave the error Queue Object Locked.

I could simulate this situation by forcefully killing the runmqchl process. But am unable to understand as to how this situation could have arised.

You must also resolve the channel (with commit or back out)
