Platform: WMQI 2.1 on z/OS
Question: I have to develop a message flow, where data from the first message have to be referenced in the next one. As the application is performance critical, I try to avoid putting the data on a message queue or database. Any suggestions ???
(I have seen support packs ia0h and ia79, but they are not available for z/OS.)

Every hint is welcome ...

Barbara

The question is not very clear, could you be more specific.

Do you mean something like this.

1st message
Md
Data=XXX

2nd message
Md
Data=XXXYYY

3rd message
Md
Data=XXXYYYZZZ
and so on...
What is the purpose of doing such a thing. What is that you want to achieve.

Cheers.

Kumar,
thank you for your answer.

The scenario is like this:
A legacy system sends messages to the WMQI input queue, where a couple of messages form a logical group, for which
- the first message contains information for controlling the processing of the following messages
- the group of messages needs to be concatenated to build one new message for another legacy system
- accounting data from each message have to be summed up to fill the "sum" field in the new message

It's a rather complex logic behind the stuff and I am wondering whether WMQI is the right tool to do this or a batch program would be a better solution.

Cheers,
Barbara

You might consider the message aggregation nodes in WMQI 2.1 as a means of achieving this.
