Hi,
MQCOMMIT is not supported in IMS.I'm writting an MQ enabled IMS DC program that gets and puts messages to queue.I want a commit to happen after every message is processed and its a long standing transaction. So the implicit commit that happens when a transaction ends cannot happen. With other ways of commit like an GU call to the IOPCB area ,the connection handle is lost which means that I would need to start off again with an MQCONN call.Is there anyway to do a commit in IMS without losing connection handles. No Syncpoint will not be a good option as messages might be lost in case of an abend.

Thanks

Hi,

Use the IMS calls of CHKP (checkpoint), and ROLB (rollback).

Yes you would lose your handles.

This thread talks about this a bit...

As per the other thread, for MPP the connection handle will be dropped (nature of the beast).

If I remember correctly, for a BMP, when issuing a CHKP, the connection handle will not be lost.
