Have you even looked at either the installation guide for Windows (which explains how the software runs) or the Intercommunication guide (which explains how the software works)?

The term write is perhaps confusing.

Applications do not normally directly open the xmit queue, but they do directly put to the xmit queue because that queue is the one actually opened.
