Currently this control command is running under the doman userid that I have logged in. The domain userid belongs to the mqm group. When I attempted to run this control command under another userid that belongs to the mqm group it does not get executed. Is it because both userid is not synchronized in terms of password but they belong to the same mqm group?. |

No, it's because there are known issues administering WMQ using domain users.

So you've got 2 domain users, and believe that they need to have the same password (a odd and slightly silly technical view)?
Or you've got a domain user and a local user with the same name but 2 different passwords (against MSoft best practice)?
In any event (pun intended) check the Event Log to see what Windoze is complaining about in your specific case and resolve that problem. Best guess is it's some kind of domain authentication or trust problem, because it's nearly always some kind of domain authentication or trust problem!
You may need the assistance of your Windows administrator to fix this. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

1. Login to the workstation with a userid
- userid belong to the mqm group
2. Right click on strmqcfg and select Run as..
3. Select the "following user" check box
4. Provide a different userid
- userid belong to the mqm group
5. Click ok
6. In DOS window type strmqcfg
Result: Program does not get executed. |

Which version of Windows? Patched to which level? Which version of WMQ? Patched to which level? What are you trying to achieve? Or is this another of your random explorations of WMQ? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

This would explain why I still can't see the WMQ version. Or the contents of the Event Log. Or why you'd want to log on as one member of the mqm group and run Explorer as another (even assuming Windows could differentiate two parts of it's anatomy and do it properly). _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

According to the event viewer it says that it is unable to retrieve group information for the userid. |
