Does anyone have experience with ULIMIT and AIX for MQSI 2.02 or WMQI 2.1? We are currently running with with user "mqsi" set for "unlimitted" for all categories, including memory. Our Brokers are rather fat (27+ EG's with over 130 MF's). Running 4 of these "fat" brokers on an H50 with 3gb of RAM (yes, I know, probably a bad idea but we are only concerned with functionality QA work and not performance) caused an "out of resources" condition (could not even telnet to the server because) and we had to reboot to get out of it. It was eventually determined by our AIX systems folks that the swap file was insufficient and the space allocation was doubled to 10GB. This seems to have solved the problem. I am wondering if ULIMIT would be a better solution because I think this would constrain one broker from using up all available memory. Since each broker is for a different environment, this would at least isolate the environments from each other and that would be beneficial to us.
I could not find anything in the WMQI documentation for ULIMIT. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks.
