Hi,

My configuration is the following one :

I have WMQI 2.1 CSD03.

My config manager is installed on machine named A.
I have three Control Centers installed (alone) on machines respectively named B, C and D.

It is possible to import/export a MESSAGE FLOW from the Control Centers situated on the distant machines (i.e machine B, C and D) ...

But it is not possible to import/export a MESSAGE SET from these machines (the dos command "mqimrmimpexp" in version previous to WMQI 2.0 or "mqsiimpexpmsgset" in WMQI 2.1 are not even installed when you install the Control Centers without installing the Config Manager).

If you want to import/export a Message Set, you must go physically or by a remote connection on NT (by PC anywhere for instance) on the Config Manager machine (i.e machine A) which is not the TOP ...

As Message Flows and Message Sets are very tied together, I do not understand the logic : why it is not possible to export a Message Set from the distant machine whereas it is possible to export a Message Flow !
................

Any advice/notice would be greatly appreciated !

THX.

No advice necessary. You have hit the issue on the head and the list of people that wonder about this is long. It wouldn't seem to be that hard of a fix to add the import/export functionality to the GUI, since the MRM repository is visible to the Configuration Manager.

This is about #3 on my wish list. Anyone out there have some pull in Hursley?

Okay...getting off my soap box.

Our "solution":

There is a running SSH server on the ConfigMgr box and developers can log in. So all command-line processes are available (export, import, etc.)

We are using cygwin, however Win2000 has a built-in Telnet service.
