Hi,
We are facing a situation here regarding some dynamic queue creation.
I see Dynamic queue created
1. which we are not able to trace which application is creating it.
2. If we try to lock the MODEL queue its using to create, means put/get inhibited, its creating more and more dynamic queues.
3. If we just leave it , we want to trace which application is making an open against it.

Is there some way where i can track that. Or somewhere i could say that QManager shouldnot allow any application to access the SYSTEM.DEFAULT.MODEL.QUEUE to stop creating these temp dynamic queues.

Please Help.

Just use
SETMQAUT -m <qm name> -t q -n SYSTEM.DEFAULT.MODEL.QUEUE -g MQM -put

That way no one would be able to Open the model queue and hence create a temp dyna queue. Also this way you would be able to figure out the application that is trying to issue an mqopen against this queue to create temp dyna queues. As that app would be failing with 2035.

NOTE: If you are using multiple groups on your system, then you might have to try and issue the above command one by one to all of them until no more temp dyna queues are created. Unless you know which userids are being used by all the apps running against this qm. That way you could just use the above command for that userid/group.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

Hi,

I tried to do that but it seems to have no effect on the queue as it was a SYSTEM Object. SO i thought i cannot change the security on the SYSTEM objects. Anyway this one i tried in my work enviornment which is a W2K.
But wat i am trying to acheive is in TANDEM/ AIX where OAM is not turned on . So can you suggest any for this situation ?

Well. even on system objects that trick works as i have used it many times. You must have your OAM and Safeguard turned on for this to work.

Cheers.
