Hi,

We are having a problem with MQ trigger. I have process configured on MQ trigger properly. Whenever a messags is arriving in a Queue, it needs to invoke a program which is added to the Process definition. Seems to be working OK 90% of the time. But 10% of the times the program is not getting invoked when the message arrives in the queue.

I have checked the application log there is no log of the program being called, so i am 100% sure the program is not invoked.

I am relativly new to MQ, which logs on MQ server can I analyze which can give me some indiacation where the error could be?

Environment details:

Operating System: AIX 5.3
MQ Server: 6.0
Called Program: Cobol program

Any leads would be highly appreciated

Regards

Nabeel

It sounds to me like in 10% of the instances the conditions for the trigger you've defined are not being met, and no trigger event is being raised.

If I'm right (and please note the assumption) there will be nothing in the logs because the queue manager is working as designed.

I'd recommend you review the triggering section in the APG and confirm that all the conditions (14 of them IIRC) are met in all instances. I'd also double check the design of your program matches the trigger you're using.

There's also been a lot of potentially useful discussion on the forum about triggering. The search facility is your friend here.

Enjoy!
