I am planning to collect and compile MQ object security setup (user permission) from at least windwos and unix os. I am thinking to use psexec in windws so I can collect all dumps in a directory. But I am wondering whether there is anything similar for unix( We have solaris)?
something like this
psexec \\mqhost amqoamd -m QMGR -s >qmgr.mqs
How administrators do security setup back up automatically? I would appreciate your response.

At V6 level you can use support pack MS03 to do this at the same time you are taking a backup of the qmgr's object definitions.

Thank fjb_saper for the reply however, this is not what I am looking for or asked for. This requires a mq network established already.

This is much the same as local operation. In this case it is assumed that
you already have the WebSphere MQ network in place and that there is a default
route to the destination queue manager. The most common way to acheive this
is to establish channels between the two queue managers the transmission
queue for which is the name of the destination queue manager or use
queue manager clustering.

Also, I am looking for a dymanic process. I can implement this in windows box with the help of psexec. this tools lets execute any command on the remote windows box. I will put these output of amqoamd into a directory. then some sort of script to process it and store it automatically. I would probably use perl script for it.
But I am looking for tools or ways to collect definition from unix mahines. That is my question.
I believe, geeks are certainly doing this.

No need for the MQ interconnected network.
Using saveqmgrc as in client connection works well too... _________________ MQ & Broker admin |
