Hi,
I am using V5.2 on Windows 2000. When I create a new client connection it will update the AMQCLCHL.TAB file. To confirm this I opened up the file in a text editor and could see the IP address, QMgr name etc. I then received a call saying that the IP address I was given was wrong. I altered the IP address and again viewed it in the text editor. All looked okay.
I tried to test it using the new client connection but got a "The filesystem returned error code 1001 for file 'AMQRFCDA.DAT'" error. After much investigation and no success to find a solution i rebooted the server and the test worked (and the error message didn't come out)
Is a reboot needed everytime? Is there any other solution as I don't want to reboot the server.
Thanks in advance,
Brian. |

I did a search on an internal database. The only time that this problem comes up is when the AMQCLCHL.TAB file is corrupted. It can actually show up in one of two ways. One way is with the AMQRFCDA.DAT file in the message and the other is with the AMQCLCHL.TAB file in the message. I'm not sure why your problem was solved by rebooting. Is it possible that somebody fixed the file during the reboot? |

Have you changed the AMQCLCHL.TAB in editor ?
Because it's binary file and cannot be altered manually. _________________ Regards.

Thanks guys.
No one fixed the file while the reboot was happening (as far as I know!!) and I just opened the TAB file in Notepad - I didn't alter it in any way. |
