Is there any way to check if a string contains a non-numeric character in ESQL?
Along this line, is there any way to search a string for a particular value in ESQL?
Thanks,

You should be able to use the POSITION( search_string IN source_string ) command.
Review the ESQL functions in the ESQL Reference manual.

THanks,
Yea, I see the POSITION function under string manipulation but I don't see any use of regular expressions which makes this a bit hard.
THanks,
