Hi,

I have an application that Inserts/Updates a UDB database based on data contained within a messgae.

I recently received a call from the Application DBA saying that the connection was being held for 17 hours. I am unable to find documentation regarding internal connection handling.

Is this behavior normal or is there some setting I am overlooking?

MQSIv2 CDS 2 - AIX
UDB 7.0 - NT 4.0

Connections are pooled. So that a single connection is reused for subsequent transactions. This is much more efficient than creating a new connection for each transaction.
